It can also result in blurred vision or complete blindness due to hypertensive retinopathy, as well as erectile dysfunction caused by hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis). However, high blood pressure is often asymptomatic, making it difficult for individuals to detect.

Fortunately, high blood pressure is a treatable and controllable condition that requires lifelong management. A combination of lifestyle changes and medical treatment can help keep blood pressure in a healthy range. The Hypertension Bites campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of preventive care and encourage adults to take action to reduce their risk.
