DHI hair transplantation with the Choi implanter
DHI hair transplantation with the Choi implanter
DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) is a variation of FUE in which placement is done with a special pen-like tool — the Choi implanter. Here we explain how DHI differs technically and when it is the better choice.
How the Choi implanter works
A single graft is loaded into the implanter needle, and the surgeon inserts it into the skin in one movement, setting the angle, depth and direction at the same time. Because channels are not created in advance, the graft spends less time outside the body.
DHI or FUE?
DHI allows very high density and precise control along the hairline, so it is often chosen for the frontal area and eyebrows. FUE is more versatile for large-volume work. During the consultation the surgeon recommends the most suitable method.
Advantages of DHI
- Precise placement without pre-made channels
- High density and a natural hairline
- Shorter time for grafts outside the body
- Fast recovery with no linear scar
