How PRP therapy for hair works
PRP therapy for hair — how it works
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy is a method based on the patients own blood, used to stimulate hair follicles and slow down hair loss. Here we explain, step by step, how the process works and why it complements an FUE transplant.
How the plasma is prepared
A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient and separated into layers in a centrifuge. The platelet-rich plasma contains growth factors that naturally take part in tissue repair.
The injection protocol
The prepared plasma is injected into the scalp at follicle level, zone by zone. The procedure takes about 30 minutes and is usually repeated over several sessions a few weeks apart to achieve a stable result.
PRP in the overall plan
PRP does not replace a transplant — it complements one: it strengthens existing hair and can improve the environment for transplanted grafts after an FUE procedure.
Benefits of PRP
- Uses the patients own biological material
- Stimulates weakened follicles
- No surgery and no downtime
- Combines well with FUE hair transplantation
